I just upgraded my computer from a PowerMac G5 to a Snow Leopard Mac. In Word 2011 I noticed that when I double-click the title bar to a document, the screen window no longer minimizes itself automatically to the Dock. I have to click the minimize button, instead. How do I fix this?
Originally I thought this was a Word preference issue. However, as it turns out, it’s an optional setting in System Preferences. Open the Appearances pane and put a check mark next to the box labeled “Double-click a window’s title bar to minimize.”
This same fix also works in Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion).
