Best sequence setting for editing iPhone videos in Final Cut Pro

From today’s mail bag:

I have several video clips I want to edit in Final Cut Pro 7. I shot the footage using my iPhone 4g. After importing my clips, I noticed that they’re encoded at HDV 1080/60i. When I try to load a clip in the timeline then press the space bar to do a preview, my MacBook Pro immediately stops playback after displaying just one or two frames, even after rendering. Should I choose a different QuickTime compressor setting for my sequence? If so, which setting do you recommend?

I use Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) for my iPhone footage and that is what I recommend to clients.
