Stranded in the UK – NOT REALLY

Earlier this month, I received an email from a consultant colleague where the message said she was supposedly traveling in Britain and needed money because her credit cards had been stolen. I immediately contacted another consultant and verified that this statement wasn’t true and that my colleague’s email account had been hacked from the outside.

On May 17, Macworld senior editor Christopher Breen posted an article about this very same scam and provided tips for using hard-to-guess passwords that would inhibit this type of phishing attack.
