Changes in iPhoto ’08

A reader writes, “I recently upgraded to iLife ’08. While I haven’t run across any major problems, I have a question regarding iPhoto ’08. In earlier versions of iPhoto, I could use the Finder to view and copy the individual photos that make up my iPhoto library. With iPhoto ’08, I can’t see or locate my photos? What happened?”

  1. Your individual photos are intact and safely stored on your Mac. In an emergency situation, you can use the Finder to view iPhoto ’08’s file and folder structure by Control-Clicking the special package called iPhoto Library and selecting “Show Package Contents” from the drop-down menu.

You are cautioned, however, from renaming, deleting, or editing any of the system files and folders that are stored in iPhoto Library. Doing so could permanently corrupt the contents of your iPhoto collection.
