Another item from today’s mail bag:
I am trying to connect my HP Laser Jet IIP (old, but good) printer to my G4 laptop. Where is the best place to get the cable? On the Mac end, it is probably USB connection; on the HP end, it is a circular male jack with a lot of pins.
At a minimum, you would need to buy a parallel to USB adapter cable from an office supply or online computer store such as EMTC, Inc. Will your Mac be able to print to the HP printer using the adapter cable? I haven’t tried this type of printer configuration myself, so you have to see for yourself. Cost of the cable is about $10. OS X comes with an HP LaserJet 2P driver, so that helps.
